Georges van Hoegaerden
Managing Director, The Venture Company
Palo Alto, CA
Georges van Hoegaerden is the Managing Director at The Venture Company (venturecompany.com) in Palo Alto, focused on helping companies with technological and market insight, organizational development, team building, selling and managing growth.
Since founding The Venture Company 10 years ago, Georges has built the growth of - and raised money for - several early stage companies, including OuterBay Technologies (Enterprise Software, sold to HP), immergo (Video Marketing), SoftKinetic (Gaming; gesture recognition), Light Crafts (Photo-editing software). Georges has helped Angels, Venture Capital and Private Equity investors with investment, growth and exit opportunities.
In-between startups, Georges has supported the equally interesting, yet different, innovation at buy-side technology companies, such as HP (Application Servers), Ericsson (Real-time databases), Symantec (Security software and services) and others. Georges has started a venture blog which has been frequently featured in Reuters' PEHub and the Canadian Venture Capital Association - VC rants.
Before founding The Venture Company, Georges worked at Oracle Corporation, the second-largest software company in the world. During his six-year tenure at Oracle, Georges became the Worldwide Director for New Media and Internet Products after having generated emerging category leadership and sales traction.

PERSONAL
Georges played tennis and basketball competitively and was an avid sailor, all of which he wishes he currently has more time for. He enjoys exploring great new locations and restaurants with his wife and 4-year old daughter, usually with his dSLR in tow. His photography is humbly displayed on the many digital outlets available to all of us today.
